Hi Engineers,

 I wonder if there's a way to stop matlab from running in the background. This is very memory consuming, so my computer is a lot slower now.I appreciate all your suggestions thanks,

YOu need to go to system administrator's tool, and set the matlab runtime server etc. to start manual, and then restart the computer.  Or you can use task manager to kill the matlab process in background.
