Hi
How to choose Yield Strength Reduction Factors from Table M.1a and calculate yield strength ,allowable stress for design and allowable stress for hydrostatic test

Example
design temperature 118°C and material A516M Gr.485

yield strength ????
allowable stress design ?????
allowable stress x test ?????

Best Regards

Use table 5.2 to find the yield strength of A516M-485 at ambient conditions (260 MPa) then in Table M.1 use linear interpolation between 94 and 150 DegC, to find the in-between factor in the column for yield strength < 310 MPa. If you don't want to interpolate, just use 0.88 as the reduction factor. Use the reduction factor and the appropriate sections of M.3 to get the allowable stresses for the various equations in the main body of the Standard.
