Does anyone out there have any experience in wrinkling of membranes??? What is the mechanism behind the wrinkling of membranes?? When you take a thin film and stech it, (width/length=1.0-1.3) it will wrinkle in the stretch direction. Is that due to materiel anisotropy, boundary conditions (like friction in the force introduction area) or is it possible that it will buckle due to Poissons ration because it har practically no bending stiffness?

Has anyone experience in doing a FE-analysis on such a case?

Any hints is appreciated
