Good morning, I have a model with a cylinder and in an assembly I want to warp the label around the cylinder. Is there anything in SW2008 that can do this or do I just make a new configuration for the label? Thanks in advance for any help.

You could make a config of the cylinder with the label, or create the label as its own part and add it into the assy.

How and when the label is applied in the real world should dictate which method you use.

If you have PhotoWorks, you can apply the label directly to the cylinder in the assembly. Drag the label onto the part, then use mapping to position.

Thanks for the replies. I need the label in the BOM and it is the last thing put on the part, in the real world. Currently, I am just using a different configuration, but I was just wondering if there is a better way using something else to wrap it around the cylinder and unwrap it, so that in the exploded view it would open flat and unexploded it would be wrapped. Well, thanks for the suggestions.

Use the Sheet Metal function to create the label as a separate part. You will then be able to use the flattened config when needed.

Thanks CorBlimeyLimey, I will give that a try a little later, but right now I am in the middle of a big bug with PhotoWorks and I have to get it over to SW first.
