Windows Professional x64 Memory

Hi All,

Is it necessary to use the /3Gb switch when running Windows Professional 64? Or can Windows figure out how much memory to use. I currently have 4Gb of Ram.

No, 64bit is capable of handling 32Gb of RAM

The /3GB switch should NOT be used with x64.
It could be detrimental to the performance by actually restricting the OSs ability to access the RAM.

To my understanding there is no limitation to Memory in 64-bit.

Windows XP Professional x64 Edition supports up to 128 gigabytes (GB) of RAM and 16 terabytes of virtual memory

Everything has limits.
