Dear All

when calculating wind pressures for a fence or barriers like hoarding or noise barrier I have been told that the end detail increase in pressure coefficient that applies to the ends and corners (Cp Net) does not apply for corners (changes in direction ) larger than 120 deg or less than 30 deg. I have searched for a reference to prove this but without luck. does anyone know where i can find this.

Very best regards

Hamza

I am not sure where the 30° - 120° comes from, but SEAW/ATC60's 'SEAW commentary on wind code provisions' suggests that an 'area of discontinuity' occurs from 10°-170° for building corners. Unfortunately, I'm not sure how that translates nor how applicable this would be for fences/signs. It may be a good place to start.
