Recently, I have been put on a project which involved with Win911 software, and been having problem with it.
When a alarm occur, the software would call out, but as soon as someone pick up the call ....it would just hang up and going to the next person on the calling list ..

this is kind of like to shoot in the dark ...hoping someone have ran into the samiliar problem in the past and able to help me with resolving this issue

Thanks

Have you tried a different modem? It could be having an issue detecting the on-line / off-line transition.

I'm jumping to a hardware issue but it is very likely this is an issue in the communication algorithm too.

Does this happen on multiple units?
Does it always happen?
If not under what conditions does it happen?

Are you sure the alarm actually has a programmed message?

If the message is empty, then it would look like it's just calling the numbers and hanging up when the phones are answered.

Have you tried talking to the vendor? I did a system with WIN911 last year and found the tech support people very helpful.

the modem was supplied by the vendor and the problem doesn't happend very offten ....but it does happend and it is unpredictable of when its gonna happend

and it is programed with massage ....have been talking to the factory tech. and he said they have "NEVER" encounter this problem before.....he suggested to download the driver for the modem, reinstall the software and I have tried both ....and the problem still comes back every now and then ......

You need to then isolate whether it's the software or the hardware. I would try a different modem, and or a different phone line. There may be something on the line that causes the modem to think that it got through and that it completed the call. I assume that the software is responsible for selecting the next call number?
