Hi Folks,
I'm designing a test apparatus where I need to apply a pressure load to a porous membrane (actually, a mesh screen).
I'm in the early stages of design, so I'm kicking around a few ideas. One of my colleagues who used to work for an aerospace manufacturer has told me about a device called a "Wiffle Tree"(sic?) that was used to apply pressure loads over the wings of aircraft, but he wasn't able to provide me with further details.
I've found very limited information on such a device through internet searches, so I'm wondering if anyone knows of any sources of information on Wiffle Trees.
At this stage, I'm mainly concerned with how they operate and whether or not they are suited to my specific needs, so any information would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance!
