I have a 3D AutoCAD 2002 file that I need to translate to another format in order to insert it into an EMF analysis software. I've been told that the tranlation engine to be used can recognize layer information, and I need to know which intermediate format will retain that type of data from the original AutoCAD format. Thanks for any help you can provide.

DXF should be the way forward I use MasterSeries and use DXFimport to get 3D frames drawn using TurboCAD. I havent heard of EMF?

I think that IGES might do this? Could be wrong, as I'm sure someone will point out. You may need an IGES converter for ACAD though.

What a useful answer that was. :-) Excessive accuaracy is a sign of poor breeding. -Socrates.
