We are looking for a direct source for 24 to 36 inch screws and matching "nuts" or "threaded blocks" of the type used in screw jacks like this

We can put this out on bid to fabricators but were hopeful we could find a large volume manufacturer so that we could gain the savings of buying a product already in wide use and direct from the manufacturer.

The screw should be capable of supporting several hundred pounds in a dynamic environment.

We may end up having to buy through a distributor but were hopeful of avoiding the extra markup.

Thanks for any help on sourcing these parts.

What you're looking for are Acme threaded rods and nuts. If you have need of increased tolerances, they can be purchased to your requirements. They are available in a wide range of materials, diameters, and thread pitches.

When asking for supplier information it's good practice to state where you are, otherwise everyone will assume you're in the US because most folks in the US have never heard of the place called the rest of the world... ;-)

On the off chance you're in the UK, try Halifax Rack & Screw

Misumi can be good for your prototypes because they will modify their standard leadscrews with steps/threads/tapped holes/etc fairly cheaply. They may not be the best fit for production due to price though.
