When should I use Beam/Brick or Shell

I am beginning my first week using mechanica and I am attempting some past assignment questions.


I have modelled a basicshelf with loadings and constraints with 2 brackets.


I have used the 3 elemental families a)Beam b)Brick c) Shell


Could anyone please explain thestrengths and weaknesses using methods a,b and c? Including elemental limitations and design considerations?
