What is the difference between ASTM and ASME
 
Different societies, different scopes. You'll see a lot of cross referencing between societies so they aren't entirely independent. ASME often focuses on pressure vessels but may reference ASTM for welding or brazing standards.

Per ISO-4126, only the term Safety Valve is used regardless of application or design.
