What is the Best CAD for microwave layout?

Is it a regular CAD program like AutoCAD or is something better for a PC platform. Most PCB packages don't seem to handle the physical structures required. - john@canyonbreeze.com<br>

I use AutoCAD... but more recently a package called &quot;ProEngineer&quot; has become popular. For mechanical layouts, &quot;Solid Works&quot; is being used a lot. <br>

Most of the more popular PCB programs will import DXF files from AutoCad directly. <br>

Don't bother with Pro-eng, it is purely mechanical. Auto cad is ok, but cannot handle curves very well( not easy to generate curved paths). The best by far, and only costs a couple of thousand dollars(if that much), is Wavemaker, from
Barnard microsystems in the UK. I have used it for years and it is good for MMIC layout also.

I have found AWRs Microwave Office quite good for generating PCB layouts
