Six Sigma is a rigorous methodology that takes a team oriented approach to data and statistical analysis to measure, analyze and improve business operations. Six Sigma was originally created by Motorola in recognition of the need to further improve quality past their current standards to become more competitive. They then created the "Six Sigma" standard, methodology and necessary cultural change processes with it. Motorola has since documented more than $16 Billion in savings from Six Sigma improvements.

Today, hundreds more companies are adopting Six Sigma as a way of improving the way they do business.
