What is piezoelectric activity in Mil 810 Shock Testing?

Both Shock and Gunfire Shock call out a "potential piezoelectric activity of materials" as one of the potential responses of the test article to the test. Can someone give an example of that activity, particularly if it relates to PCBA's or composities like fiberglass.

Quartz, Polyvinyldifluoride (PVDF)... go see wikipedia or google piezoelectric materials. Not that many materials have any appreciable piezo response. Certainly not any PC board material I've heard of, unless you are using quartz fiber instead of glass...and even then.

I believe the MILSTD810 concern is mostly about the quartz crystals that might be on the board for clocks/timers.
