what is difference between save & send to directory

SAVE will save (overwrite) the file in the same folder from which it was opened.

SEND TO DIRECTORY will save a copy of one or more files in a different folder.

CATIA works just like any other windows application.

The main difference is that Sent To > Directory can be used for making a copy of ALL the files related to a given one. For example, when a Product is open, not only the loaded parts can be sent to a different folder, but the parts linked to those ones as well. The links between all the elements are also modified in order to point to the new location.
