FYI: 1. Google CAD weld. There are plenty of very important information on what is CAD weld, how is it carried out in the field etc.,etc.
2. a) Advantage: permanent connection, long durability, very low connection resistance, withstand any weather or chemical attack, easily carried out at site with very low cost with special re-useable low cost tool, no bolts and nets except the chemical power.
b) disadvantage: unable to disconnect the join once CAD welded.
c) It is NOT a spot weld usually carried out by spot welding. See above FYI 1.
3. It is a connection process. There is no electrical symbol for it .

I refer to my post dated 24 Apr 22 09:58. and wish to add the following:
1. 2. a) Advantage: permanent connection, ...... no bolts and nets except the chemical power.. The chemical " power" is a typo error. It should be chemical "powder" which is packed in a tube form. It act as a charge to create an ignition..... It is a consumable item.
2. b) disadvantage: unable to .... Add CAUTION Do NOT carry out CAD welding in explosive locations !

Suggestion : indicate it " CAD weld " and add this in the key of symbols used in the drawing in order not to cause any confusion; as it is NOT an electrical symbol. However, the word CAD is well known in the electrical engineering installation work.

CAD Welding is certainly the preferred choice for outdoor, particularly for underground locations, but a good crimped connection is perfectly good indoors.
Trying to argue it out for outdoors, underground, you're libel to trying to start some sort of religious war.

Cadweld is an Erico brand name. You might want to use the generic term exothermic weld.
We've always used just a solid dot for a symbol, unless it was on a ground rod where we would use a circle with a line through it. Ø
Exothermic welding is used when you want to absolutely want to minimize the risk of a failed joint during it's service life. Also lower resistance than other connection types.
The symbol you use should be acceptable as you are explaining the intent,
