I am trying to find out what type of iron is used for crank shaft material. It is a motorcycle type crank and we don"t what to go with forged so we are looking at ductile iron just not sure about the grade.

Sorry I ment to say nodular ductile iron.

Anybody hear of series 9000 cast material?

For automotive use ductile iron to SAE J434c grade D5506 is used where cast cranks are specified.
