What do you pay drafters? 1

I'm looking at hiring my first drafter for structural work. What do you pay drafters? Do you pay them hourly or a salary?

The classic consulting engineers multiplier is 3X. I think for lower cost staff the multiplier is higher like 4. In depressing low margin businesses its like 2.2X.
