What chemical expands rapidly on contact with air?

Sorry, cross posting from the Computer forums, so this might be basic chemistry, but:

I have a cloth garment that I'd like to vacuum seal to conserve space. I'd like to coat it with something so that when it's opened and exposed to air, it (the garment) rapidly expands. anyone? anyone?
