WF5 Merge/join surfaces, keep both - How?

Hi All
In WF3 I remember being able to toggle between keep left, keep right, and keep both as options with surface merging. I cannot seem to find how to do this in WF5. I can either keep left, or right, but not both. I assume this functionality has simply been moved or accessed a different way? The attached image (hopefully) makes this clearer. This is for external FEA work where the mesher needs these mid planes joined to create a decent mesh. The actual geometry is more complex that this example.
Thanks

Bill

I think you are refering to surface trim. You can select to keep either side, or both (split the surface)

its not possible to have an edge shared with 3 surfaces in a BREP (boundary representation) system.how ever i think there's an option in mechanica in these situations that will extend and intersect mid planes to act as a single geometry for meshing. also there are options to treat touching surfaces as bounded together.
