Curiosity question:

I was looking at a problem on another forum: Fella wanted to create a section offset from a model face to use as a rotated aux view; i.e. "View X-X, rotated 90 CCW". He is not able to create the model XSec if the section doesn't intersect part (or assy?) geometry. (Something I've done myself.)

I'm using an early build of WF2 and, prior to really digging into it, have had no problems creating such an XSec. Trying a variety of scenarios I was able to get a "can't create" failure. I think I found that re-booting the computer would allow creation where it had failed before.

What I'm wondering is; can others using WF2 create model sections that don't intersect geometry without problems or has it been "fixed" in later builds; e.g. doesn't allow it at all?

(Not really looking for alternative methods at this point. Just trying to figure out what's what with the given situation.)

TIA,
Jeff

I'm on WF 2.0 Date Code M100 and this works fine. Pro/E has been able to do this for as long as I've been working on it (since Release 16).

Thanks, pardner.

Maybe it's just certain build / hardware combo's that have a problem. The gent I've been corresponding with says he can't at all (but could on 2001) and I can get it to fail sometimes, but can't predict the failure. Good 'nuff fer now.
