No. A fusion weld is one that is done without filler metal such as the automated process of resistance welding. You are fusing two pieces of metal together without the use of a supplementary filler as is done with other welding processes. Spot welding is a fusion welding process.

A puddle weld is typically done with a high flow electrode such as an E7024 electrode intended to create a molten puddle that holds sheet metal to a more significant frame such as for deck welding.

A spot weld is done with a special device and joins two materials together at a "spot" by using a fusion welding process.

A fusion weld is a weld where the base metal is melted and where filler metal may or may not be added.

A puddle weld is a nonstandard term for an arc spot weld or plug weld.

A spot weld is between or upon overlapping members where the weld occurs at the faying surfaces (resistance spot weld) or initiating at the surface of one member extending into the other member (arc spot weld).

More complete technical definitions can be found in AWS A3.0.
