I'm cutting and welding a steel W section to support a ridge beam. The roof slopes 4:12 each way. I'm looking for a prequalified CJP welded connection for the flanges.

All of the prequalified connections are for either parallel plates (butt joint) or plates at ninety degrees (T or C joint). Any suggestions for a prequalified joint for non-parallel plates?

Assuming AWSD1.1, pre-qualified butt joints are allowed to skew from 135deg to 180deg. Check out note #10.

Thank you. I knew it had to be hidden in there somewhere.
