Weld grounding lug to B16.5 Flange

Will the flange be a un-listed component if I weld grounding lug to it?

One must ask the follow; why would you weld a grounding lug to a flange when you could mechanically attach the lug to the flange. I've never permitted welding a grounding lug to a flange.

I dont see an issue welding a lifting lug to a flange. Happens all the time in a similar manner to e.g. davits.
Agree with weldstan that it makes more sense maybe to mechanically attach it.
