Hi,
How should the weitht factors be calculated when using RBE3?

I have a fine model connected to a coarser model with RBE3 (both with shell elements), see illustration below. The model is fix in the lower nodes and a shear force is applied in the upper nodes (to the right ->). By default, the weight factors are 1 for all nodes. I've been trying to mixture with this to decreas the boundary effects in corner of the fine area, but I can't get any big improvements. How should I think when distributing the load with the RBE3?

one approach might be to continue your coarse grib mesh over the area of interest. then extract the displacements along the perimeter of the fine grid mesh, and apply these displacements to the fine grid model. you'll need to interpolate displacements for the intermediate nodes, or maybe a ring of RBEs.
