Can anybody offer advice?
We need to weigh out small amounts (up to 3kgs)of a chemical which is supplied in a pellety-powdery-granular form. The health and safety officials have decided (out of the blue and off their own backs I might add) that we must prevent people from coming into contact with this chemical, so we need to find a way of doing the weighing remotely.
We envisage a fume cupboard type affair where the 70kg tubs of material can be poured in but then weighed automatically depending on each opreative's requirements. i.e. they type in the amount they need and the device dispenses it.
I was wondering about a vibratory feeder dispensing onto a platform scale.(They need to be within a few grams accuracy only). I haven't been able to find anything suitable.
Am I barking up the wrong tree or is there something on the market suitable instead?
one other thing: we're only a small company and price is a big consideration!

Rob,
Try to use a K-tron Loss in weight feeder, Small size and with double screw.

Thank you pneumaticconveying. They seem to be the sort of thing I'm looking for.
Now to find a nice cheap one in the UK.....! "I love deadlines. I love the whooshing noise they make as they go past." Douglas Adams
