Hi:

Searching for the right bushing material in designing a wear sleeve and bushing for a shaft steady bearing used in a tank of TiO2 slurry. The slurry is used as a paper whitener, so is extremely fine.

The wear sleeve is 316SS, the bushing material TBD. The maintenance interval should be longer than 6 months.

Shaft dia. 2.5", 45 rpm, about 60 lbs lateral thrust.

I'm thinking a ceramic. Any sources?

I WAS READING YOUR PROBLEM AND IF YOU DONT MIND ME ASKING WHAT IS YOUR SHAFT ON? A MIXER, PUMP ETC? ALSO WHAT KIND OF TEMPERATURES AND SPEEDS ARE YOU DEALING WITH?

WE USE SEVERAL DIFFERENT MATERIALS BUT IT ALL DEPENDS ON YOUR PROCESS AND THE EQUIPMENT IF YOU CAN GIVE ME AN IDEA OF THAT I WOULD BE HAPPY TO PASS SOME INFORMATION ON TO YOU.
