Hi everybody!

There is a problem in choosing wear rings for sea water centrifugal pump for nuclear power plant. The material class for pump is D-2 (super duplex) according to API 610. Is it possible to use the impeller (Super Duplex) with Hastelloy C-276 (hardness over 320 HB) VS Super Duplex case wear ring with hardness 270 HВ?
Would there be any problems with galling with such a difference in hardness when using such a bundle of materials?

P.S. I apologize for possible errors - English is not my native language.

I guess that you could, but how would your C276 get that hard?
It might be better to look at Co based alloys for these wear rings.
