Water storage tank wall cleaning

Hi,
I am in need to find a safe chemical to clean the walls of water storage tanks in drinking water treatment plant.
Presently we use NaOH solution for cleaning the walls but we feel it is not safe for the workers. This solution we used today is acceptably efficient.

Can some one advice me regarding a safe (both to use for drinking water and safe for the workers)chemical product, please?

Look for a product that is NSF 61 certified.

You are correct. Caustic soda is not a suitable cleaning product.
