I have an application where I inject a metered quantity of water based fluid into a container (atmoshpere). I use three pneumatic cylinders to draw up the fluid then inject it, in syringe fashion. I drive the cylinders using a lead screw, drive plate assembly. The problem I'm having is in the balancing of the whole assembly. I would like to go to a single cylinder with a hollow rod, and drive the lead screw through the rod center. I would also like to use a stainless cylinder and rod, with plastic end caps and a nylon piston. Any suggestions?.
