Does anyone know of any resources or standards that specify how to calculate annual water consumption for potable water fountains based on occupancy for commercial buildings? I'm thinking ASHRAE or LEED...?

I have always assumed this is just rolled into the overall water consumption. If the occupants aren't getting water from the fountains, they are getting it from the pantry sinks.

Standard spec for flow is 8 GPH, 3/8" tube.

Are you specifically looking for a broken out number?

I'm attempting to balance all of the water outlets in an existing bldg with the historical records (ie a water audit) and want to make sure I don't put too much in the "misc" category. I was thibking that I might take a percentage of the recommended daily water intake per occupant as an approximation. I was just hopping that there was an ASHRE guideline.

I don't think there is one for misc. items like drinking fountains... i know i looked before. Interesting to see if someone turns something up.
