does anyone know a website where I can get information about the different types of filters used in the water treatment industry (preferably other than sand filters)

I went into altavista.com and typed filters.
I got 900,000 sites, off course you'd have to ignore filters for other products, like light, air etc, but there are the popular companies there including some water treatment specialists who can help you.

Some of the filter companies you could select are Larox, Boll, Cuno, etc.
