I've searched here and in a ton of literature, but I can't find a definitive answer to my question.
I have a building in which the columns receive only axial gravity loads (no significant moments or net uplift). The erector is installing the columns per our typical details which call for 3/4" anchor bolts and F436 washers. The holes in the base plates are 1-1/16".
Table 14-2 in the Steel Construction Manual recommends a minimum washer size of 2", but it doesn't say whether that applies to ALL oversized holes, or for the maximum recommended hole size of 1-5/16".
I think I'm OK with the standard washers in this particular case, but would appreciate any backup for that opinion anyone can provide.
