Dears,

I need a pipe wall thickness calcuation for 40 inche LSAW

Pipe Mterial = API 5L Gr 70 psl2 LSAW.

Design Pressure = 63.5 Bar
Design Temp = 85 degree celcius
corrosion Allowance = 3 mm

if LSAW we use the equation thickness = PxD / 2(SE+PY)

Thanks and Regards

Look at the design code you plan to use. This will tell you the precise calculation and data to use.

Remember - More details = better answers
Also: If you get a response it's polite to respond to it.

As LittleInch states it depends on code not on manufacturing process, the equation you have is based on B31.3 but incomplete as you are missing 'W' the weld joint joint reduction factor which is related to elevated temperatures as per table 320.2.5 and if not relevant as per your design temperature given a factor of 1. Also to that equation you will have to add CA and factor in mill tolerance as per material code in your case API 5L. Note also that the 'E' value is Weld Joint Quality Factor and related to your manufacuring process(LSAW)defined in Tables A-1a, A-1B and 302.3.4.
