I know that many of my esteemed colleagues are living where panic seems to have taken over . . . Keeping my thoughts with you and your family's well being . . . fortunately, here in Tajikistan, we have been spared . . . for now. KNOCK ON WOOD!

My grandfather, an MD in rural South Carolina, died in 1919, during the third and final wave of the 1918 flu pandemic. My family takes these situations seriously. Looked up the death rate for that time frame... > 2.5%, about the same, or a little less than I'm seeing estimated this time.
