How does a WAC exchanger work? Also, why is it called an exchanger or polisher (is it not just for precipitation of hard-water sulfates)? Does anyone have any section views of the internals? What is the purpose of "regeneration"?
Weak acid ion exchanger are used to remove the weak cations, calcium and magnesium, but will not remove sodium, which is a strong cation. Sulfate is an anion and will not be removed by a cation ion exchange unit.
The internals of a weak acid unit will be the same as any as any other type of demineralizer unit.
