During the installation of a PDC it was added to a main structure.
The PC, containing the first created domain in this main structure, is missing (caused by defect or other reasons).
The PDC is now trying to connect to the missing PC permanently and is generating the error “The connection to the global catalog fails”.
In order to deactivate the connection, you have to have explicit rights of the Administrator from the main structure, which we do not have.
How can the connection be deactivated?
Is it contained in the NTDS.DIT? Is it possible to edit this file for this purpose? What would happen, if we deleted this file (is that possible)?

first server in a forrest is schema and global catalog server. pdc implies an nt4 installation although windows 2k will in mixed mode emulate a pdc . win2k also limits permission to administer at the machine,ou,domain and forrest levels. each must be done by administative privilege and cannot be done by other account that do not have permission to acess. first server in forrest is also holder of domain name so fi missing you have greater troubles have you tried to restore it from backup as i can not imagine it was not backed up at some time
