I have created a drawing in Model Space that contains dashed lines. When I create a Viewport, with the Model Space contents, the lines all appear and print as solid lines. Under foremat layer, the lines are listed as being dashed. Any help would be appreciated.

Check your LTSCALE settings (command: LTSCALE). For a drawing to print correctly from paper space, LTSCALE should be set to 1.

When printing from model space, your LTSCALE should be set equal to the scale factor of whatever your drawing will be (48 for 1/4"=1', 96 for 1/8"=1', etc.)

Thank you for the input. My LTSCALE was set to 1. When I zoom in on the Model Space drawing I can see that the lines are dashed. When I zoom into and print the viewport the lines are all solid - not consistent with the layer foremats.

Besides setting LTSCALE to approx 1, set PSLTSCALE to 1.

Alternatively set your LTSCALE to whatever looks right in modelspace, and set PSLTSCALE to 0. But if you have differently scaled viewports in PS (layout mode) you'll want to use option 1.

You don't mention which version of Autocad you have, but try in the Format menu pull down, go for Linetype and make sure "Use paper space units for scaling" is checked. In paper space, your LTscale should be one if you are printing Layout (not Extents, etc). You may have to save/close/re-open to see the changes.

Thank you - Setting LTScale to 1 and PSLTScale to 0 works for most of the lines. Setting both to 1 does not seeem to work. I am using Cad 2000 so I may not have as many options. I still don't fully understand why it is / is not working but am glad to be making progress. Thank you for all of the help that this forum provides.
