Hi all

I am using NX10.0
In the drawing, I want to move some section curves (By Neighbourhood parts) in the view to 3D Model space.
I used to extract curves/ edges from particular view and by using Extract all from view command
and the click "View dependent Edit" -> View to Model.

Now I can not find the extract command in NX10 in the drawing View Expand Mode

Please help me.

You'll need to customize the drafting application and add the command to your toolbar/ribbon of choice.

I'm curious why you are extracting the edge curves and moving them to view to model. What are you trying to accomplish? There may be a better way to do it in NX 10.

Hi Cowski

Thank you for your reply..[smile2]

Normally, For Automotive Individual Part drawings, we assemble all neighbourhood parts and make section views and show the neighbourhood parts in dashed line with different color. After we make the section view , we extract the neighbourhood parts entities from section view and move them to Model Space by View Dependent Edit option. Finally we delete the neighbour parts from the Assembly and keep only extracted curves and actual individual part in the assembly to show in the drawing.

This process will reduce the file size and very fast to load the drawing due to small file size.

Is there any other better way to do it?

Have you considered using the drafting view "extracted edges" or the "snapshot" option? These will extract curves to show in the view even if the components are not loaded. If/when the part or one of the surrounding parts is changed, you can load the components and let NX update the view.
