It seems to me that in dual use or heating systems, even when the tempature is within there spec's for the product / gaskets that leaks seem to occure on every system I have seen around the 5 year mark..

the leaks go away when the water is brought back to "normal" operating temp.

I assume the cuase is a loss in the rubber compounds elasticity, but a 5 years life span?

Anyone else have poor results with this product line?

Yesss!! I've saw this on one particular older hot water heating systems that when dormant during the summer months, leaked like crazy, and then in the winter as the system stayed at normal operating temperature these leakers we away. I assumed it was due to expansion and contraction of a system that was poorly supported (lack of adequate hangers). I never really considered the rubber gaskets, partly because I haven't had this problem on that many systems, manly that one system.

I'm not a real engineer, but I play one on T.V.
