I'm in the process of trying to clean up and improve an existing vibration table and test processes with my current company; they would like to reduce the cost of implementation and testing by using existing material and equipment. The table that we have is a QRS-100E, which utilizes a vacuum system to keep vibration fixtures "sucked" down onto the table. I was curious if anyone might be able to provide information or insight on an acceptable rubber material sufficiently "sticky" to keep the fixture from sliding around, and sufficiently "stiff" to prevent over damping of transmission of vibration energy to parts. Our ESS vibe levels are from 20 Hz to 2000 Hz, and PSD ranges from .01 to .04 at 6.1 grms.

Thanks,
David McCann

That is pretty high vibration level (maybe this is relative). Anyhow, I am using a 3" plate of Al directly mounted to the vibration table with hardware. It is only protruding out about 3", but I already found a natural frequency at around 1000 Hz. Stiff in static mode might still be too soft in dynamic mode.
