very basic solver questions

I am embarassed by a simple question but I can't find the answer in help or searching the forum.

I saw a description of solver here awhile back. I tried it out and liked what I saw.

Now I am trying to launch it again. I can't even find where it is on my menu's. I did verify the solver add-in still installed.

Question #1 - where do we launch solver from?
Question #2 - does solver allow you to solver minimization type problems?

Solver should be located in the Tools menu in the second to last grouping. If not there, then it may not be installed and you need to click "Add-ins" in the last grouping on that menu and select the "Solver add-in"

I found it now and I see it can also minimize.

I often assign a score for various outcomes, then add the weighted scores, and minimise or maximise the weighted sum.
