Vertical support for pipes

You did not give us any information about your specific situation. So I will just offer one example.
Vertical Vessel with a 4" Reflux line from near grade to the top Tray area (Vertical distance 190 Feet (+/-).
In simple terms:
Use a Double (Dog ear pipe stubs) Trunion welded to the Pipe
Use a Double Knee Brace support attached to the Vessel just below the Reflux Nozzle elevation. This location does not need to be directly below the Reflux Nozzle but needs to be directly inline with the location of the vertical drop of the Reflux line.
Use two Vertical Pipe Guides, the first one forth (1/4) of the way down the vertical drop and the second one half (1/2) down the vertical drop of the 4" line and a third one three quarter (3/4) the way down.

The Trunions on the pipe and the Knee Braces need to be designed to carry the dead weight load of 200 feet of pipe, plus Hydrotest Water, plus Insulation, plus any wind and snow loading.

You do not mention the pipe temperature for the B31.1 piping that you have. I would recommend the short height shear lugs (at least 2, depends on loading)/ riser clamp combination on the piping for high temperature applications to have vertical load if you have to use vertical support, and piping guides as required by wind/seismic and other available loads. You can find typical riser clamps from the catalogs of support manufacturers.
The use of supports, their types and locations are depending on the pipe layout. You need to verify your selections with pipe stress analysis. Sometimes the local stresses on the piping local to the support might be a driving factor for your layout, support selection and types.
