I am designing a ventilation system for an 8000sf warehouse. Half of the space is used to pour and form concrete products and the other half is used for storing/drying the product. I have found recommendations that state 6-10 air changes per hour is adequate for industrial spaces. Are the air changes intended for the entire volume of the building or just the occupied zone (6-10ft a.f.f.)? The space needs to be kept to 70 degF for the process so any make-up air will need to be heated in the winter (North Carolina). The difference in heat needed is significant when considering changing all of the building air as opposed to only changing the occupied zone. How significant is the water evaporating from the drying concrete? I don’t want to over ventilate and cause the heating bills to be high but I definitely don’t want the building to have a moisture problem? Any help is appreciated. I have not been able to find any similar case studies.
