Hi.

Wich are the requirements for air temperature and humidity to use microprocessor controls in elevators?.

Our elevators will work in a industrial plant, with high ambient temperature (up to 40°C or 104°F) and very high humidity.

Air conditioning will be the recommended choice, but we have a lot of troubles to give air conditioning to the machine rooms, that´s why we choose ventilation.

Is it possible to use microprocessors that can work under this conditions?.

Thank you.

There are microprocessors available with an extended temperature range (industrial or military parts) that would cover your temperature range with no problems. None will work with condensing humidity. However, conformal coating applied over the PCB should allow operation in environments up to 95% humidity.
