Vent port position

What is the right vent port position in vacuum extruder? I'm going to use barrier ring in front of degassing section. I suppose, 2D should be enough distance between barrier ring and vent port. Or it should be closer?
It is 120mm extruder, and vent port dimensions are L=1D, W=0,5D.
Thank you for advice.
