Hello,

I'm having some issues modeling an absorbed power run in VEHDYN 4.0. The issue I have is that the vehicle must start from and equilibrium 0 force position so the vehicle starts off bouncing from the initial drop. The software allows you to run for a while before collecting data but the maximum run length is not enough for the oscillations to settle out.

Any advice is much appreciated.

I haven't used vehdyn, but yes that is a familiar problem.

Often it is due to (these may not apply to vehdyn)

a) Serious geometrical errors in the initial setup so that the assembly of the model is unstable

b) mechanism errors

c) undamped subsystems

d) starting with the contact patch underground.

Cheers
