VB6 and Rockwell RSLinx

I had a program written in VB4. Update the computer and OS.
The VB4 program will not move into VB6 for starters. Everyting is messed up.
And I am having trouble getting simple test to be visible and unvisible linked to a data bit in the PLC 5.
VB and Rockwells documentation really leave a grand amount to be desired. Has anyone encounter this problem and have some fixes?
 
I have been researching this myself. What I have found so far is you can use VB6 and Linx Pro. You need Pro because you have to Linx as a DDE server. I found a working example that you download (not the clock sync one) at MRPLC.com. Good Luck
