variables in MDO for user defined forces

Hi,


I am new to this website but I have been reading the forums for a while and finally have a question. I am learning MDO in Wildfire 3.0 in order to do some undergraduate research as I study ME at my university. Right now I want to add a User Defined servo force motor into my model but I don't want the variable to be t (Time). I want the variable to be...say ameasured angle somewhere else in my model. So my question is how do I define a variable in pro-e and will it even work with the User Defined force motor in MDO?

It is possible to do what you would like - with some restrictions. You can make a user defined force a function of anything you can make a measure out of only on the MDO side only - this means you cannot create a BMX measure in "Stnadard Mode" and have it recognized as a variable to work against on theMDO end. Using measureslike distances and angles may not be possible if the distance is not a pt-pt measure, or if the angle is not the rotational angle of a joint axis. We are currently limited by what MDO allows you to measure. For an angle, you can use the "Body - Orientation" measure and select the proper "Euler" angle that gives you what you need - or use this in conjunction with another body orientation to arrive at the desired angle.
